Workhouse Arts Center Carnival and Art Party
Friday, May 29, 5 – 10 p.m.
Saturday, May 30, 1 – 10 p.m.
Sunday, May 31, 1 – 6 p.m.
Workhouse Arts Center, 9518 Workhouse Way, Lorton, Va.
The weekend features rides, fair food, outdoor film screenings, live music and the kick off of the “Stars on Sunday” summer concert series. Free admission. $5 parking – free with Military ID. Rides and activities require additional fees or tickets. All proceeds benefit Workhouse arts, education and history programs.

Virginia Renaissance Fair Celtic Heritage Weekend
Saturday and Sunday, May 30 and 31, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Music, entertainment, food, shopping and children’s activities.
Lake Anna Winery, 5621 Courthouse Rd., Spotsylvania
Admission is $10. Children five and under are free.

Saturday, May 30, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Sunday, May 31, 12 – 5 p.m.
The annual street painting festival is a modern day version of a centuries-old tradition, which features artists creating large scale pastels on the streets and sidewalks. The event will be held on the 600 – 900 blocks of Sophia Street between Hanover and Wolfe Streets, the 100 block of Charlotte Street between Sophia and Charles Streets, and in Riverfront Park, 600 Sophia St., Fredericksburg.

Alabama at Celebrate Virginia Live
Saturday, May 30. Gates open at 5 p.m.; openers Michael Ray and Karen Jonas begin at 5:30, country music legends Alabama — the American country, Southern rock and bluegrass band formed in Fort Payne, Alabama in 1969 — takes the the stage at about 8 – 8:30 p.m.
General admission tickets, if still available, are $28.50 in advance, $34 on show day.

Belmont Woodland Hike
Sunday, May 31, 2 p.m .
Gari Melchers Home and Studio at Belmont, 224 Washington St., Falmouth
A woodland hike at Belmont, led by members of the Virginia Master Naturalists Central Rappahannock Chapter.
