Potomac River Festival 2015
Thursday, June 11, through Sunday, June 14.
Colonial Beach, Virginia.
Carnival rides, crafts, live music, food, boat parade, Volunteer Fire/Rescue Parade and more.

Saturday, June 13, 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
7:45 a.m. – Opening Ceremony
8 a.m. – Parade of Drivers Up the Hill
8:05 a.m. – Oil Can Race
8:15 a.m. – Showcase of Last Year’s Champs
8:30 a.m. – Aerial Race Photo
9 a.m. – Races Begin
3 p.m. – Awards Ceremony immediately following last race.
Cheer children 8 to 18 as they race down the William Street hill at top speed to become the next champion in their division. Rain date is Sunday, June 14.
Park along side streets, and watch the races along William Street. The starting line is near the intersection of William Street and Sunken Road, the finish line is near William Street and Littlepage Street. There will be people directing traffic, according to Fredericksburg Parks, Recreation & Public Facilities.

Family Day at the Marine Corps Museum
Saturday, June 13, 12 – 3 p.m.
National Museum of the Marine Corps, 18900 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Triangle, Va.
Spend the afternoon learning about model making with the National Capital Modelers. Make and take your own model!
Free admission, free parking.

Shakespeare on the Lawn at Historic Kenmore Plantation
Saturday, June 13, and Sunday, June 14, 7 p.m.
Historic Kenmore Plantation, 1201 Washington Ave., Fredericksburg
The Fredericksburg Players present King Lear, one of Shakespeare’s most heart-breaking tragedies.
Arrive early to tour the mansion (5:45 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.) and view the refurnishing project in progress. Bring folding chairs or a blanket, and a picnic.
Admission: $10 adults, $5 students.

Third Annual Richmond Bacon Festival
Sunday, June 14, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
17th Street Farmers’ Market, 100 N 17th St., Richmond, Va.
More than 40 Richmond restaurants and food trucks will bring their creative minds to this event, each one offering their own favorite bacon-centric dishes Live music. Shopping.
The Richmond Bacon Festival is presented by Devils Backbone Brewing Company, Brown Distributing and the 17th Street Farmers’ Market.
Free to attend. Food and beverages available for purchase.
