Severe Thunderstorms Possible Overnight into Sunday Morning

The National Weather Service (NWS) is forecasting showers and thunderstorms for the Fredericksburg region Saturday night, June 20, through 10 a.m. Sunday, June 21, 2015.

Some storms could be severe, with damaging winds and heavy rain, the NWS said. The chance of precipitation is 90 percent, with new rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

A slight chance of showers is predicted between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Sunday. Clouds should gradually give way to sun, with a high near 94. Heat index values Sunday could be as high as 100. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch are expected, with higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
