More than 700 Spotsylvania youth will participate in this year’s NFL Legends Football Camp June 22 – 25 at Massaponax High School.

The Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office and two-time NFL Super Bowl Champion and former Washington Redskins wide receiver Gary Clark are hosting the event. “The Sheriff’s Office has been hosting youth sports camps for more than 15 years, providing area youth the opportunity to interact with sheriff’s deputies in a positive way while learning valuable skills,” said Sheriff Roger Harris.

Former NFL players will teach the combine-style (fitness-drills focused) football camp. Clark founded the camp to promote fitness in youth and fight childhood obesity. “We see this program as a valuable community outreach and something healthy for the kids,” Harris said.
