Local Equestrian, U.S. Pony Clubs Featured on Radio

Gegi Winslett, a member of the U.S. Pony Clubs (USPC) Board of Governors, will be the guest on WFVA radio’s “Town Talk” from 8 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2015. You can listen at 1230 AM or at the “Listen Live” link at News Talk 1230 AM Fredericksburg.

Winslett has been involved with USPC at the national level since 1980, most recently serving as chairperson of the National Advisory Committee. The Locust Grove, Va., resident teaches, coaches and trains riders and horses in eventing, jumpers, hunters and equitation, produces horse shows and designs courses through her business, The Winslett Advantage – TWA Horse Shows. She is also a licensed United States Equestrian Federation judge.

Winslett received the 2011 United States Hunter Jumper Association’s (USHJA) Lifetime Achievement Award (video).

U. S. Pony Clubs is a national not-for-profit organization whose mission is to “develop character, leadership, confidence and a sense of community in youth through a program that teaches the care of horses and ponies, riding and mounted sports.”

The United States Pony Clubs Championships East are July 22 – 26, 2015, at the Virginia Horse Center, in Lexington, Va.

The Virginia Region Pony Club consists of 12 local clubs and two riding centers. The centers are Serene Acres Riding Center, 19312 Walsh Farm Lane, Bluemont, and Misty Brae Farm, 40295 New Rd., Aldie.
