The first day of school for the 2015-16 school year in Fredericksburg City public schools is Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015 — the day after the Labor Day holiday. Following is a list of registration, supply and orientation information for each of the city’s four public schools.

Registration
Kindergarten and new student registration is 9 to 11 a.m. Monday through Friday. Head Start students transitioning to Hugh Mercer Elementary must complete registration forms for enrollment in kindergarten. Registration forms are available online and in the school office. Supplies
The 2015-16 supply list is available online.
Orientation
Kindergarten orientation begins at 1 p.m. in the gym, and concludes at 3 p.m. Buses will be available for kindergarten orientation only. Bus schedules will be posted soon, the school’s website said. Orientation for 1st and 2nd graders is from 9 to 11 a.m. or 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Parking Passes
Parking passes go on sale Tuesday, Aug.18. The decals are $80 for the year. Students must complete an application and have valid driver’s license to purchase a decal.
