Know How to Protect Your Child Online

The Community Collaborative for Youth and Families and Germanna Community College are presenting a free training for parents, professionals and teens about online safety.

“It’s 11 p.m…Do you know what your child is doing online?,” will explore cyber bullying and other online challenges to forming healthy relationships, and provide information for caregivers on how best to help children and teens with these obstacles.

The event will be held 7 – 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015, at Germanna Community College’s Sealy Auditorium, 10000 Germanna Point Dr., in Fredericksburg.

FBI Special Agent Robert Sayegh, FBI Victim Specialist Donna Mixner and Dr. Michael Horne, Psy. D, Director of Clinical Services for Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Arlington will address:

• What is cyber bullying?
• How can I help my child form healthy and positive relationships?
• What is sextortion? How does it happen?
• How is sextortion related to “sexting” and bullying?
• Who is at risk and how can I help protect my child?

Register online by October 16.
