Heart of Virginia Bike Festival

Richmond Area Bicycling Association’s (RABA) 2015 Heart of Virginia Bike Festival presents 101 mile, 64 mile, 34 mile and 11 mile rides. Enjoy rest stops, lunch by Everyday Gourmet and entertainment.

Heritage Harvest Festival at Monticello

The Heritage Harvest Festival at Monticello celebrates the legacy of revolutionary gardener Thomas Jefferson, America’s “first foodie,” with more than 100 educational programs, hands-on workshops, garden tours, a bounty of heirloom fruit and vegetable tastings, lessons on seed saving and gardening, an organic, local food marketplace, kids’ activities and more on the West Lawn of Monticello.

Seurat Sunday at Caledon State Park

Annual event for plein air artists, photographers, and nature-lovers of all ages to come out and paint, draw, photograph, relax and have fun on the beautiful grounds of Caledon State Park. The first “Seurat Sunday” was held in 1980 at the Fredericksburg Center for the Creative Arts (FCCA) and was named after a painting, Sunday Afternoon on the Isle of Grande-Jatte by Georges Seurat, French Impressionist (1859-1891). Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Road World Championships
September 19 – 27 in Richmond, Va.
The Road World Championships (Worlds) is cycling’s pinnacle event, held annually in an international city as chosen by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) through a competitive bidding process similar to the Olympic Games. The nine-day event features about 1,000 of the world’s top men and women cyclists from some 75 countries competing in 12 championship races. Beyond the racing, there will be festivals, concerts, expos and other entertainment for fans of all ages.
The same cyclists who race in the Tour de France will race in the 2015 UCI Road World Championships. The Tour de France is a stage race, with individual winners of each stage and one overall winner. Each race of the UCI Road World Championships is its own world championship. The Olympics and Worlds are the only times cyclists race for their country and not their trade teams.
Richmond is the first American city to host the event since 1986.
There will be several hospitality areas and fan zones that will have ticketed admission, but the majority of the courses will be open and free for all spectators.
Art Attack Fredericksburg

Art Attack Fredericksburg is a grassroots event organized by local artists to encourage the exposure, promotion and celebration of Fredericksburg’s vibrant art community. Participating artists take to the streets of the historic downtown with live art demonstrations ranging in a variety of media.

9th Annual Wine & Oyster Festival at Stratford Hall
