The third annual Made in FredVA business plan competition is underway in Fredericksburg.
Sponsored by the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce Next Generation of Business Leaders, the competition provides the opportunity for entrepreneurs to pitch a startup business idea to a panel of judges for a $10,000 grand prize and a people’s choice award.
Nine applicants are competing to be among the four finalists who will pitch their idea before judges and a live audience from 5:30 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015.
All applicants submitted a two-minute video explaining their idea and why they should be a finalist. The public can view the videos and vote for one applicant to be among the finalists. The last day to vote is September 30.
The applicants are:
1 – Arts & Flowers LLC – introducing Repo-Rocks
2 – jungleboystraining – personal training /gym
3 – Earthwalk Ways – Forest Therapy health and recreation programs
4 – Up | FXBG – social platform that crowdsources local event information
5 – Dogwood Lawns – Uber styled marketplace for lawn care services
6 – Graceful Aging Ozone and Oxygen Retreat, LLC – Retreat providing detoxification and cellular regeneration while utilizing the HOCATT Plus Ozone and Oxygen Sauna
7 – Dog Bark, LLC, Anna Baker – all natural dog treats
8 – Twila & Co. – The Best of Fredericksburg Gift Box
9 – Boxxo LLC – Boxxo.TV turns any TV into a smart,connected, streaming internet TV
The Made in FredVA finale and reception will be held at the Inn at the Old Silk Mill, 1707 Princess Anne St, Fredericksburg. Tickets are $10 for Next Generation of Business Leaders members, $15 for non members.
