Donations Sought for Soldiers’ Holiday Gala

The local National Guard’s 116th Brigade Special Troops Battalion HHC, stationed here in Fredericksburg, is trying to find ways to pay for its soldiers’ families to attend a family Holiday Gala without the families having to pay for the privilege.

The soldiers’ meals are always paid for by the U.S. government. However family members have to pay. The more we can defray from the cost, the less these family members will need to pay to have a Christmas meal with their soldier.

The Fredericksburg Guard Association has agreed to pay $300 of the outstanding balance due. It’s about a $1,000 total. I was hoping you and your organizations would also be willing to donate funds for this event? HHC as a military unit cannot solicit for money to support this activity, but I can… I hope you will support the FGA’s efforts.

Donations may be made by mailing a check to the Fredericksburg Guard Association C/O LTC ‘David’ K. James, 1700 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Fredericksburg, Va. 22401.

Thank you,
