Detour Planned on Route 664 for Bridge Repair

by | Feb 7, 2016 | Traffic

Traffic on Route 664 (Granite Springs Road) in Spotsylvania County will be detoured Feb. 8 – 12, 2016, for a bridge maintenance project.

Virginia Department of Transportation crews will close the bridge to traffic for five days to complete a bridge superstructure replacement. Signs will be posted to guide motorists along the recommended detour route, which is Route 601 (Lawyers Road).

The bridge was built in 1968. Repairs will include installation of a new bridge deck, beams and bridge rail.

Granite Springs Road is an unpaved state-maintained route that carries an average of 130 vehicles per day.
