A front porch and a rear sun room bookend this Drive By Gem on Fauquier Street in downtown Fredericksburg.

Philip Watson, horticulturist, landscape designer and host of QVC’s “Cottage Farms,” designed the yard.

The house was built in 1926, and so has the character of older homes combined with recent updates.  These include a renovated kitchen with a center island and quartz countertops, according to the listing on Zillow.

There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms in the 2,149 square-foot home.  Amenities include a fireplace, hardwood flooring and off-street parking.

In June 2009 the house sold for $591,000.  It’s currently on the market for $549,500.
