By Gretchen Rusden, Therapeutic Foster Care Recruitment Coordinator for National Counseling Group

In honor of National Social Work Month in March 2016, National Counseling Group Treatment Foster Care (NCG TFC) wants to recognize the case managers in our Fredericksburg office.

Meet Cynthia Coleman, who has a decade of mental and behavioral health experience. Cynthia is driven by her desire to help those affected by mental health and behavioral issues. By utilizing integral life skills, Cynthia promotes self-esteem, increases self-awareness, and provides both her clients and their families with a greater sense of life satisfaction.

Cynthia is an integral part of what we do at NCG TFC, and without her we wouldn’t be able to serve our families or the children placed with them.

Treatment foster care, also called therapeutic foster care, involves placement of children with foster families who have been specially trained to care for children with certain medical or behavioral needs. Examples include medically fragile children and children with emotional or behavioral disorders.

If you want to learn how you can help children who have been removed from their homes and placed in treatment foster care, contact us at 877-846-6720 or attend our next information session at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, at Salem Church Library, 2607 Salem Church Rd, in Fredericksburg.
