Friends of the Rappahannock (FOR) is hosting their 5th annual Wild & Scenic Film Fest at two locations in 2016.

The festival is meant to inspire environmental activism through short films about outdoor adventures, biodiversity, food, and the protection and restoration of wild lands and water ways, according to Woodie Walker, FOR community conservationist.

The first showing will be held on Saturday, March 19, at Paragon Village 12, 51 Towne Centre Blvd. in Fredericksburg. The festival begins at 8 a.m with a nonprofit fair, followed by films from 9 a.m. – 12 noon.

The second showing will be on April 3 at Germanna Community College Daniel Technology Center, 18121 Technology Dr. in Culpeper. Doors open at noon with local food served, followed by films from 2 to 5 p.m.

Tickets are $10 in advance; $15 at the door; $5 for students. Special prices are available with the purchase of a FOR membership. Tickets can be purchased online at www.riverfriends.org.

FOR is a non-profit watershed advocacy group in its 31st year of protecting the Rappahannock River from the Blue Ridge Mountains to the Chesapeake Bay.
