Fredericksburg Main Street, UMW to Host Talk on Economic Impact of Preservation

Fredericksburg Virginia Main Street and the University of Mary Washington Center for Historic Preservation will present Economics and Historic Preservation: The Preservation of City Centers on Monday, March 21, 2016.

Donovan Rypkema, principal of PlaceEconomics, will speak about the economic impact of preservation on the local economy. The talk will begin at 9 a.m. Courtyard Marriott Fredericksburg Historic District, 620 Caroline St.

Rypkema is recognized industry leader in the economics of preserving historic structures. He has received the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s Louise du Pont Crowninshield Award, the organization’s highest recognition of an individual.
