Friends of the Rappahannock Receives $2K Donation from Operation Round Up

by | Mar 23, 2016 | Business

Friends of the Rappahannock received $2,000 from Rappahannock Electric Cooperative’s Operation Round Up program. The money will be used to fund river cleanups, fly fishing education, and the student stream team (SST).

Operation Round Up receives its funding from REC members who volunteer to have their electric bill “rounded up” to the next highest whole dollar.

Once enrolled, the extra charge from your electric bill is dedicated to charitable causes. Members can sign-up by visiting the Operation Round Up website or by calling 800-552-3904. The average tax-deductible member contribution is about $6 per year. An annual statement of your charitable contribution is mailed to you.

Friends of the Rappahannock is the Fredericksburg-based nonprofit working “to be the voice and active force for a healthy and scenic Rappahannock River.”
