The City of Fredericksburg will have a new voting system for its May 3, 2016, general election.

The Office of Voter Registration and Elections has purchased DS200 Precinct Scanners and Tabulators.

“The DS200 Precinct Vote Scanner and Tabulator combines the best attributes of a paper-based ballot system with the flexibility and efficiency of the latest digital-image
technology,” said Juanita Pitchford, Fredericksburg director of elections and general registrar.

Residents are invited to view a demonstration of the DS200 voting system from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at the Dorothy Hart Community Center, 408 Canal St.
