by | Apr 26, 2016 | Events

Richmond’s Byrd Theatre is celebrating “the life, the music and the experience that was Prince” in two special screenings of “Purple Rain.” Shows are Wednesday, April 27, at 9:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 30, at midnight.

Byrd Theatre is located at 2908 West Cary St. in Richmond.

“Purple Rain” opened on July 27, 1984. One month later, Prince Roger Nelson became the first artist to have a concurrent top movie, album and single.

Tickets will only be sold at the door, 30 minutes before showtime. Tickets are $1.99 for the Wednesday show and $5 for the midnight show on Saturday.

Attendees are encouraged to wear purple in memory of the legendary musical icon.
