Nominations Open for 2016 Governor Spotswood Award

Nominations are being accepted for Spotsylvania County’s 2016 Governor Spotswood Award.

The deadline is 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2016. Nominees must be Spotsylvania County residents. The awards ceremony will be held on June 16.

“The honorees will have contributed to the community of Spotsylvania through words, actions and/or deeds,” according to the county’s press release. “They will have, through these actions, displayed integrity, courage and loyalty, and brought honor to the county while maintaining personal discipline and etiquette. Nominations may be posthumous, for a former county citizen.”

– Elected officials are not eligible for this award.
– County employees and members of commissions and committees are not eligible for services rendered as part of their jobs or committee responsibilities.
– Those who were nominated in the past, but not chosen, may be nominated again – a new, updated nomination form must be submitted.
