Fly City Tours, a new business venture of Fredericksburg native Catesby Payne, will soon begin offering guided bicycle excursions around historic Fredericksburg.

Payne, owner of the downtown Fredericksburg boutique fitness studio Fly Fitness Inspiration, developed Fly City Tours after touring other U.S. cities by bike.

Fly City Tours will operate all year, weather permitting. Initially, participants must provide their own bikes, but Payne hopes to provide bike rentals in the future.

The tours cost $15 to $30.

Participants need not be expert cyclists, but they must be able to handle their bikes in small groups and stay with the 90-minute tour that will span five to seven miles.

Initial tours will be offered on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to noon, and 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Fly City Tours is operating out of Fly Fitness Inspiration, located at 501 William St. in downtown Fredericksburg. For more information, call 540.847.5614.
