First Friday Fredericksburg Art Walk
Friday, June 3, 6 – 9 p.m.
Join the art galleries and studios of Fredericksburg for the First Friday Art Walk. Featured artists and studio hours are listed at the hyperlink. Opening receptions are from 6 – 9 p.m., unless otherwise indicated.

Sounds of Summer Concert Series
Fridays at 7 p.m.
Historic Market Square at 907 Princess Anne St. in downtown Fredericksburg.
The Fredericksburg Area Museum and Cultural Center is presenting a series of free Friday night outdoor concerts. In June, performers are:

Sunset Syndicate’s Farewell Concert
Friday, June 3, 9 p.m.
Colonial Tavern, 406 Lafayette Blvd., Fredericksburg
Sunset Syndicate (pop/variety) presents a farewell performance, marking a move to the west coast. “Look for a Sunset Syndicate West Coast until we return to the Northern VA area in a couple of years,” she said on Facebook. “Come send us off in style. Bring the love, bring the lights!”

Rock the River FXBG

Water and land races, Virginia craft beer, kid’s activities, vendors, displays, food, live music and more.
Register in advance for the birding hike, yoga, a beginner guided mountain bike trip along the river, the four mile run/walk,

Kids’ Fishing Derby
Saturday, June 4, 7:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
Motts Run Reservoir, Fredericksburg
The annual event for kids age 4 – 16, sponsored by Fredericksburg Parks & Recreation and the Weekend Bassers, features fishing, boat rental, games, prizes, vendors, hiking, picnicking — fun for the entire family. It’s a Virginia Department of Game “Free Fishing Weekend,” which means no license is required.
7:30 – 10 a.m. – Registration on site
8:30 – 11 a.m. – Fishing tournament
11 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. – Weigh-in and awards

Virginia Renaissance Faire
Saturday, June 4, and Sunday, June 5, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
This final weekend’s theme is Pirate Invasion.

Virginia Family & Pet Festival
Saturday, June 4, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Stafford Regional Airport, 75 Aviation Way, Fredericksburg, Va.
Enjoy rides, beer, wine, food and bands. Bring you dog, and take part in the pet costume contest or obedience games. There will be cats and dogs in need of homes, brought by animal welfare groups.
$5 per car.

9th Annual Car and Bike Show at Wilderness Presidential Resort
Saturday, June 4, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Wilderness Presidential Resort, 9220 Plank Road, Spotsylvania, Va.
This event benefits the Wounded Warrior Project.
$2/person, Kids 5 and under are free.

59th Annual Antique Car Show
Saturday, June 4, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
700 Block of Caroline Street, downtown Fredericksburg
Join the Historic Fredericksburg Region Antique Automobile Club of America for their 59th Annual Antique Car Show. In addition to the display of antique cars, the event includes a “Take-Apart Model-T” display, vintage clothing fashion show, period dance demonstrations, and activities for kids.
Free for spectators.

Fredericksburg Virginia American Indian Pow-Wow and Show
Saturday, June 4, and Sunday, June 5, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Fredericksburg Fairgrounds, 2400 Airport Rd., Fredericksburg
The Pow-Wow is an opportunity for the public to interact with American Indian dancers, singers, drummers, artists and craftspersons, and learn about American Indians, past and present, through the arts. The Pow-Wow “Parade of Nations” (grand entry) is at 12 noon on Saturday.
Admission is $8 ages 13 and up; $6 ages 3 – 12.

A Night on Broadway by Stafford High School Singers
Saturday, June 4, 5:30 p.m.
Stafford High School, 63 Stafford Indians Lane, Fredericksburg
The evening includes the choice of dinner and show, or show only. Dinner and Show tickets must be pre-purchased by emailing [email protected]. Show only tickets can be purchased at the door. Proceeds from the evening will benefit the high school’s music program.

Lake Anna Sunset Concert
Saturday, June 4, 5:30 p.m.
The Pavilion at Anna Point Marina, 13703 Anna Point Lane, Mineral, Va.
Enjoy live music, adult beverages, soda, water and food concessions, plus a lakeside sunsets. Bring a lawn chair.
The concert is free.

National Trails Day Sunset Stroll at Lake Anna State Park
Saturday, June 4, 6:30 p.m.
Lake Anna State Park, Lake Anna State Park, 6800 Lawyers Rd., Spotsylvania Courthouse, Va.
Join a park interpreter for a special 1.5 mile hike on Overlook Trail, a Ranger only trail. At the overlook, you’ll experience a breathtaking view of Ware Field, while observing waterfowl in Ware Cove. Be sure to bring your camera and binoculars. Comfortable, closed-toe walking shoes and a water bottle are recommended. Space is limited to the first 15 guests. Program is FREE and open to the public. To register, call 540-854-6245.
