Stafford County Schools has announced several administrative appointments throughout the school division.
Scott McClellan Appointed North Stafford High School Principal
The Stafford County School Board approved the appointment of Scott McClellan as principal of North Stafford High School. Mr. McClellan was appointed as assistant principal at Brooke Point High School (BPHS) in 2003, and he was appointed as principal of Brooke Point High School in 2012. He joined Stafford County Schools as a health and physical education teacher at H.H. Poole Middle School in 1995. During his time at BPHS, Mr. McClellan has implemented the Jostens’s Renaissance program and the C2G (Committed to Graduate) initiative designed to improve school climate and culture through recognition, reward, and reinforcement of student academic achievement. Recently, BPHS ranked #54 of high schools in Virginia by U.S. News and Mr. McClellan has a Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He earned his Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership from George Mason University.
Abigail Martinez Named Assistant Principal at Anne E. Moncure Elementary School
Abigail Martinez was selected as an assistant principal at Anne E. Moncure Elementary School. She has served as the assistant principal at Ferry Farm Elementary School since 2013, and prior to that appointment she served as a speech language pathologist with Stafford County Schools. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communicative Disorders from University of New Mexico. She has a Master of Science degree in Speech Language and Auditory Pathology from East Carolina University and her graduate certificate in Educational Leadership from University of Mary Washington.
Dr. Christopher Pendergraft Appointed Drew Middle School Assistant Principal
The school division appointed Dr. Christopher Pendergraft as assistant principal at Drew Middle School. He has served as a Career and Technical Education Department Chair at Massaponax High School and as dean of students with Spotsylvania County Schools. Dr. Pendergraft is a graduate of the University of Mary Washington having earned a Bachelor of Liberal Studies in Business Administration and a Master’s of Education in Secondary Education. He earned his doctorate of education in educational leadership from Capella University.
Kara Colucci Appointed Assistant Principal at Ferry Farm Elementary School
Kara Colucci was appointed as assistant principal at Ferry Farm Elementary School. Since 2009, Ms. Colucci served as the assistant principal at Margaret Brent Elementary School. Prior to that appointment she taught third grade at Winding Creek Elementary School. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from West Virginia University and earned a Master’s of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Thomas “Tom” M. Nichols Appointed Chief Secondary Officer
Thomas “Tom” M. Nichols was appointed as the new chief secondary officer for the school division. Mr. Nichols’ history with Stafford begins in 1991 as a teacher at North Stafford High School and he has served very successfully as principal of North Stafford High School for almost 12 years. At North Stafford he:

⎫ Implemented the Virtual Virginia School
⎫ First to implement JROTC in Stafford County Public Schools
Mr. Nichols has earned both a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Technology Education from the California University of Pennsylvania. He earned the Educational Leadership endorsement in Administration and Supervision from George Mason University. Mr. Nichols is currently working on his doctoral studies at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
