Showers and scattered thunderstorms are expected throughout the day and into the evening on Thursday, June 23, 2016, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). Heavy rainfall may lead to localized flash flooding. Remember: “Turn around, don’t drown.”

Afternoon storms will have the potential to be severe, with locally damaging winds and large hail possible.

Thursday’s high is expected near 86.

New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible, the NWS said.
