Hartwood Elementary School fourth graders with the help of their teacher Ms. Elena Beard organized a walk-a-thon near the end of the school year, and raised more than $900 for the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank.

“One hundred students walked on average two miles each to raise $949.19, which will provide 1,898 meals to help families with children home for the summer that need of additional food assistance,” Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank wrote on their blog.
