12th Annual Spotsylvania Stars and Stripes Spectacular
Saturday, July 2, 3 – 10 p.m.
Spotsylvania Court House Area.
Free kids’ activities, live music on three stages, food vendors, historic tours, fireworks.
There will be free parking behind the courthouse at 9119 Dean Ridings Lane. Free shuttle buses will be available beginning at 2:45 p.m. from Courtland High School, 6701 Smith Station Rd. $5 parking will be available at Courthouse Village, at the corner of Brock Road and Courthouse Road. Proceeds will benefit the Fredericksburg Christian Health Clinic.

Fredericksburg Heritage Festival
Monday, July 4, 2016
The 600, 700 and 800 blocks of Sophia Street, the 100 block of Charlotte Street, and the 100 block of Hanover Street will be closed to all traffic from 5 a.m. through 5 p.m.

7:30 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.
7:45 am: Heritage Festival Five-Mile Run
Packet pickup 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Saturday, July 2, at VA Runner, 1993 Carl D Silver Pkwy. in Central Park. Race day pickup begins at 6:30 a.m. at the Fredericksburg Visitor Center, 706 Caroline St.
Race information is available at Heritage Festival Five Mile
$25 – $30

10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Festival of the Streets
Classic car display, craft show, live music, and children’s activities.
12 p.m. Presentation of the Colors and welcome from Mayor Mary Katherine Greenlaw
Downtown Fredericksburg streets.
Free admission.

4:30 p.m. – Pratt Park Opens for July 4th Festivities
John Lee Pratt Memorial Park at 120 River Rd. in Fredericksburg, will open at 4:30 p.m. Park gates will close at 8:45 p.m., or when the park reaches capacity.
Bring lawn chairs and picnic dinners. Food vendors will be available.
No alcoholic beverages. No sparklers. No tents in concert area. No grills. Dogs must be on leashes.

5 p.m. – Jason Tarwick and the Common Good
6:45 pm – Joy Ike
7:30 pm – Wylder
Free admission.

9:30 p.m. – Fireworks
View the fireworks from Pratt Park or Old Mill Park, 2410 Caroline St., Fredericksburg.
No alcoholic beverages. No sparklers, No grills. Dogs must be on leashes.

The Fabulous Fourth at Ferry Farm: “We the People”
Monday, July 4, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. –
A day of activities at Ferry Farm, George Washington’s boyhood home. Learn about archaeology at Ferry Farm, enjoy a patriotic flag retirement ceremony, interact with colonial and Civil War
re-enactors as well as members of the Patawomeck tribe, listen to patriotic music, and participate in educational programs, crafts and games, and hands-on activities for the whole family.
Catch a free bus or trolley from the Heritage Festival in downtown Fredericksburg, or from the Eagles Lodge, 21 Cool Springs Rd. in Stafford. Ferry Farm parking will be “Handicapped Only.”
$1 admission. Please no pets, coolers, or alcohol.

One notable loss from the traditional slate of activities is the children’s parade which had been hosted by the Fredericksburg Jaycees, now defunct. Heritage Festival organizers have been unable to find another sponsoring organization for the parade.
