Micah Accepting Applications for Winter Shelter Facilitator

by | Jul 6, 2016 | Non-Profits

Micah Ecumenical Ministries is accepting applications for a winter shelter facilitator.

“The Winter Shelter Facilitator is responsible for managing all operations related to the program, including supervision of four staff and church volunteer teams. He/she will oversee the intake and check-in process each night, keep track of supplies and provide basic case management connecting shelter guests to other Micah services provided during daytime hours. Applicants should have a minimum high school diploma and minimum three years experience working with special needs populations. Bachelor’s degree preferred.”

The cold weather shelter opens November 15, 2016, and closes March 15, 2017, with the possibility of extension based on snow. Applications for other staff will be accepted in the fall.

To apply for the winter shelter facilitator position, send resume and cover letter to Meghann Cotter at [email protected]

Micah is also looking for volunteers to provide shoes for clients.

“For people that live outside, sturdy shoes are an important resource for survival and employment,” Micah said. “The problem is that no one donates the size or the kind of the person who needs them. You can help, by getting on our list of people we can call when someone needs a new pair. We will only call 3 to 4 times each year with specific instructions on what to buy.”
