Traffic Switch Tuesday on Fall Hill Avenue

by | Jul 25, 2016 | Traffic

From the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Traffic will be shifted onto a section of new asphalt on Fall Hill Avenue in Fredericksburg, beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2016.

Lanes will remain open in both directions, but a flagging crew will direct Fall Hill Avenue traffic to shift slightly between the entrances to Forest Village Apartments and Crestview Apartments. The traffic shift is scheduled to occur between 10 a.m. and noon, weather permitting.

Traffic is shifting to provide space for work crews to continue widening Fall Hill Avenue from two lanes to four lanes between the Rappahannock Canal and Gordon W. Shelton Boulevard.

Mary Washington Boulevard will also be extended to connect with Fall Hill Avenue as part of the $44.4 million widening and I-95 overpass replacement project. The project will be completed in January 2017.
