Join the art galleries and studios of Fredericksburg for the First Friday Art Walk on August 5, 2016. Featured artists and studio hours are listed below. Opening receptions are from 6 – 9 p.m., unless otherwise indicated.

New works by Beverley Coates (watercolors), Penny A Parrish (photography) and Lynn Abbott (acrylics and oils). Opening reception from 6 – 8:30 p.m.

Artful Dimensions Gallery, 911 Charles St.
“The Square Plate Project” Kickoff Event. Experienced and novice artists will be able to purchase blank square plates to turn into a unique work of art. All artists and service dog lovers will have the option to feature their masterpieces in an exhibit at the Gallery in November. Proceeds will be shared between both Veterans Moving Forward, Inc. and Artful Dimensions Gallery.

“Encountering God through the Arts.” Live music, artist demonstrations, face painting, kid’s crafts, and light refreshments will be provided.

The Fredericksburg Plein Air Juried Exhibition. Opening reception from 5 – 9 p.m.

PONSHOP, 712 Caroline St.
“Remixed 4” the fourth annual vinyl album art show. Opening reception from 6 – 10 p.m.

Sophia Street Studios, 1104 Sophia St.
Showcasing paintings by Erin Murray and pottery by Trista Chapman and Neal Reed. Also taking place is the annual ice cream contest, where seven ice cream makers will be competing for first prize. All are welcome to taste test and place a vote.
