Central Rappahannock Regional Library (CRRL) has completed a strategic plan, including updated mission and vision statements that align with the library’s role as an educational institution for the entire community.

The new mission is: Inspiring lifelong learning for everyone in our community.

The updated vision statement is: The Central Rappahannock Regional Library improves lives through the transformative power of information, learning, and ideas to meet the growing needs of our region.

The completion of the strategic plan and the adoption of a new library mission and vision were the perfect catalysts for updating the CRRL logo. Representing both books and the digital frontier, the logo will be used to rebrand the library’s physical and digital spaces.

The strategic plan is a dynamic tool that will allow the library to set priorities to better engage and serve our community. It will be used to inform the library’s day-to-day operations, and to guide its future in the following directions:

READ – Encourage everyone in our region to read, view, and listen.
LEARN – Promote lifelong learning from birth to higher education and beyond.
MEET – Create thriving spaces where the community connects, accesses library resources, and shares their ideas and stories.
INNOVATE – Provide collections and services that aid in soliciting ideas, building skills, supporting lifelong learning, and sparking creativity.

Results from over 6,000 survey respondents and multiple public and staff focus groups were used in the strategic planning process. Visit the library website for more information about the strategic plan and to download the full document.
