Knights of the Golden Horseshoe Living History Encampment
Saturday, Sept. 17 and Sunday, Sept. 18, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Brawdus Martin Visitor Center, 2062 Germanna Highway, Locust Grove, Va. 22508
The Colonial-era re-created encampment celebrates the 300th anniversary of the 1716 Knights of the Golden Horseshoe Expedition, which began and ended at Fort Germanna.

Graffiti House Heritage Day
Saturday, Sept. 17, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
The Graffiti House, 19484 Brandy Rd., Brandy Station, Va. 22714
The grand opening of the new hospital room in The Graffiti House, which served as a field hospital for the South, and a headquarters facility for the Federal forces.
The program will include Confederate and Federal bivouac areas, a photo booth, a lecture on Civil War medicine, music by the Country Troubadours, Graffiti House tours, and a children’s corner with vintage clothes and toys. Food will be available for purchase.
$5 per person suggested donation. Children 12 and under free.

The Golden Age of Comedy

“The Golden Age of Comedy” was the first compilation of its kind in feature-length form. While many past greats are spotlighted in the film, the true stars are Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy, shown at their very best. The rest of the film offers choice comic bits from the likes of Ben Turpin, Billy Bevan, Will Rogers, Charley Chase, Harry Langdon, and even Carole Lombard.
