Susan Carol Creative Appoints Associate for Digital Marketing and Events
Fredericksburg-based marketing communication firm Susan Carol Creative has appointed Alexandra (Alex) Rynkiewicz as a digital marketing and event specialist. Rynkiewicz recently graduated from Elmira College in New York, with a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus on marketing.

Main Street’s Ann Glave Attends CityWorks Xpo
Fredericksburg Main Street Executive Director Ann Glave is attending the CityWorks Xpo in Roanoke, Virginia, October 6 – 8. CityWorks Xpo is a national idea exchange and festival conference for those working to create stronger communities.

Fortress Door Company Expands
Fortress Door Company has expanded its plant in Fredericksburg, to include the manufacturing of residential doors. The Lester Group of Martinsville, Virginia, which owns Fortress Door, earlier this year purchased the assets of the former Masonite Architectural Door company at 218 Central Rd. and hired its 14 employees.

disAbility Resource Center to Host ADA Workshops
The disAbility Resource Center is hosting two workshops on The Americans with Disabilities Act and the workplace on Oct. 21 at its office at 409 Progress St. in Fredericksburg.
The first workshop from 10 to 11:30 a.m. is on significant changes and additions that the ADA Amendments Act. The second workshop from 1 to 2:30 p.m. is on making requests for accommodations in the workplace under the ADA. Military Friendly Business Award Reception
The Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Council will present their annual Military Friendly Business Award at a reception 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. October 17, 2016. Speakers include Capt. Jason Haag, USMC, Ret., Senator Mark Warner (invited), Congressman Robert Wittman, and Congressman David Brat.
