Fall Opening of St. James’ House
This is a week-long event — Monday, Oct. 3, through Saturday, Oct. 8, 1 – 4 p.m.

Enjoy a rare chance to tour this 18th century gentleman’s cottage and stroll through its lovely gardens

Richmond Folk Festival
Friday, Oct. 7, 6 – 10 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 8, 12 – 10 p.m.
Sunday, Oct. 9, 12 – 6 p.m.
Free parking and free shuttles from City Stadium, 3201 Maplewood Ave. All shuttles will stop at two festival locations: one at 2nd Street and one at 7th Street. Buses will leave regularly throughout the day.
The Richmond Folk Festival features over 30 live performances spread onto seven different stages during the weekend that pays tribute to traditional folk music. There are live dance demonstrations, nonstop musical acts, a folk arts marketplace where you can purchase handmade wares, and a wide array of food trucks that serve up delicious menus filled with regional, local, and ethnic dishes. Admission is free.

First Friday Fredericksburg Art Walk
Join the art galleries and studios of Fredericksburg for the First Friday Art Walk on October 7, 2016. Featured artists and studio hours are listed at the link. Opening receptions are from 6 – 9 p.m., unless otherwise indicated.

First Friday History Trivia 2016
Friday, Oct. 7, 6 – 8 p.m.
James Monroe Museum and Memorial Library, 908 Charles St., Fredericksburg, Va. 22401
A history trivia contest in the museum garden, hosted by local celebrity judges. Cash bar, prizes, 50/50 raffle.

Everything but the Garage Sale
Saturday, Oct. 8, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Sunday, Oct. 9, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Indoor garage/yard sale.

Fredericksburg Area Parade of Homes
Saturday, Oct. 8, and Sunday, Oct. 9, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

26th Annual Fredericksburg Area Wine Festival
Saturday, Oct. 8, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Star Party at Stratford Hall
October 8, 6 – 11 p.m.
Parking offered at administrative building parking lot.
The Rappahannock Astronomy Club (RAC) will offer an informal discussion on the various types of telescopes and the basics of astronomy, then provide star and planet gazing from a number of telescopes on the Oval. Bring your snacks and flashlights.
The public is advised to call Stratford Hall (804-493-1972) beforehand, if the weather forecast is uncertain and there is a cloud cover that would impede viewing.

Masquerade Gala
Saturday, Oct. 8, 7 – 11 p.m.

disAbility Resource Center’s 2016 Masquerade Gala features dinner, a silent auction, door prizes, and music.
