High Speed Rail Meeting October 27

Commonwealth Transportation Board Member Hap Connors will host a meeting to discuss DC2RVA Rail line expansion at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016,

The meeting, which is open to the public, will be held in Council Chamber at Fredericksburg City Hall, 715 Princess Anne St.

Fredericksburg City Council and other jurisdictional representatives have been invited to attend.

The 115-mile D.C. to Richmond rail corridor is a segment of the Southeast High Speed Rail Corridor (SEHSR), which runs from Washington, D.C. to Charlotte, N.C. It is part of a nationwide initiative by the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) to improve service and connections to higher speed rail service in the northeast (Boston, Mass. to Washington, D.C.) to points in the southeast (Miami, Fla. to Charlotte, N.C.) and beyond.
