Downtown Fredericksburg Scarecrow Winners

Fredericksburg Main Street announced the winners in their 2016 Scarecrow contest. More than 60 businesses participated, and some 1,000 votes were cast, according to Main Street Executive Director Ann Glave.

Winners were announced in four categories. They are:

Historic
1st Place – Fredericksburg Visitor Center
2nd Place – Rising Sun Tavern
3rd Place – Flowers by Val

Funniest
1st Place – Kickshaws Downtown Market
2nd Place – Made in Virginia Store
3rd Place – Heather Boutique

Spookiest
1st Place – Jay’s Downtown Sports Lounge
2nd Place – Shoppes at Caroline Square
3rd Place – Whittingham

Best Use of Business Theme
1st Place – Virginia Partners Bank
2nd Place – Central Rappahannock Regional Library
3rd Place – Dog Krazy

Trophies will be presented to the first-place winners at the Rappahannock Rotary Club meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 9, at First Baptist Church, a half-page ad in Fredericksburg Parent and Family Magazine, and $200 in Downtown Gift Cards. Second and third place winners receive a certificate.

The Scarecrow Contest was one of several fall events sponsored by Fredericksburg Virginia Main Street, in partnership with the City of Fredericksburg Police Department, Fredericksburg Parent and Family Magazine, and the Rappahannock Rotary Club.
