Sam Foltz, owner of Fredericksburg-based Foltz & Associates Certified Public Accountants, received a 2016 Customer Superstar award at the Thomson Reuters 36th annual SYNERGY Users’ Conference for tax and accounting professionals.

Foltz was awarded The Innovation Award, recognizing the firm that did the most in the last year to innovate, invigorate and grow its business.

In the last year, Foltz & Associates implemented new accounting technologies that allowed the firm to increase efficiencies and product offerings without adding new staff.

“As a result, the practice experienced client base grown by as much as 45 percent in one division over a nine month period,” Foltz said. “Our efficiency rating grew by about 35 percent.”

Foltz said the award is confirmation that his team is moving in the right direction. “We live in a world in which companies that do not grasp the concept of innovation and taking steps to adopt new technologies will find themselves left behind and clamoring to catch up,” he said. “Technology is changing so rapidly and is becoming more deeply weaved into business and personal finance to the point that we must embrace it; moving and changing with it as it progresses.”

“The Customer Superstar Award winners represent some of the most-forward thinking firms in our profession,” said Jon Baron, managing director of the professional segment of Thomson Reuters Tax & Accounting business.

Thomson Reuters is a global leader in tax, audit and accounting solutions. Each year at their SYNERGY Users’ Conference, a panel of judges presents five Customer Superstar Awards to practitioners and firms who demonstrate outstanding dedication and service in the tax and accounting profession.
