The former Otter House Restaurant at 1005 Princess Anne St. has been sold to a partner in Umi Restaurants. The two-story, 4,704-square-foot building was purchased for $760,000 by a local restaurant owner.

“The new owner plans to fully renovate the interior and open a restaurant focused on healthy Asian cuisine on the first floor, but has yet to release plans for the second floor,” said Charlotte Rouse of Coldwell Banker Commercial Elite, who represented the buyer.

Umi means sea in Japanese. The Japanese/Sushi focused restaurant has existing locations at 1500 Jefferson Davis Hwy. in Fredericksburg, and at 20 Dunn Dr. in Stafford.

The property has been vacant since late 2013 when Otter House closed its doors.
