#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (in the U.S.), and the widely recognized shopping events of Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday. Its purpose at the start of the holiday giving season is to inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities by giving to charities and causes they support.

“The nonprofit agencies listed below are encouraging local businesses and individuals to participate in #GivingTuesday on November 29, 2016,” said Julie Rettinger, vice president, Community Relations & Resource Development, Rappahannock Goodwill Industries, Inc.

“We encourage all who are interested in joining our organizations’ #GivingTuesday initiatives to visit our respective websites, or visit the #GivingTuesday website at www.givingtuesday.org for more information,” Rettinger said. “Together we can make the community stronger.”
