U4C Victory Ministries, Inc. is sponsoring their annual Christmas break food drive for homeless school aged youth.

“Youth will be out of school for two weeks during the Christmas holiday season, so we are hoping to collect twice as many food donations as we normally collect for the annual Spring Break food drive,” said Ritta Armstead, organizer.

As of November 2016, there are more than 700 homeless youth in Fredericksburg, Stafford, Spotsylvania, King George, and Caroline, Armstead said.

The group is seeking donations of non-perishable items as described below, and new or slightly used coats.

You can drop-off donations from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturdays through December 7, 2016. The drop-off location is Mount Hope Baptist Church, 6823 Harrison Rd. in Fredericksburg.

Volunteers are needed to help bag items from 5 to 8 p.m. on December 7.

See the attached .pdf for the list of items needed.
