During the 2016 holiday season, Fredericksburg VA Main Street is “gifting” a $10 gift card for every $50 in gift cards purchased.

“It’s Main Street’s way of saying thank you to those who support shopping and dining in downtown Fredericksburg,” said Ann Glave, executive director of Fredericksburg VA Main Street.

The promotion begins Friday, Dec. 2, 2016.

The $10 cards have their own design, and an expiration date of March 31, 2017. The promotion is limited to 400 cards, on a first come, first served basis. There is a limit of $400 in gift card sales per individual per day.

Gift cards can be purchased online at http://www.fredericksburgmainstreet.org/gift-cards.html, and at two locations:
Fredericksburg Visitor Center
706 Caroline Street
540-373-1776
9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday
11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday

LibertyTown Arts Workshop
916 Liberty Street
540-371-7255
10 a.m. – 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday 10am to 8pm
10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Sunday

“It’s our first designed gift card with a specific purpose — to encourage visiting downtown during the winter months,” Glave said. “The first quarter of the year tends to be a quieter time in sales volume for businesses, due to the colder weather and the shorter daylight hours. The promotion has the potential to equate to $20,000 in additional sales for downtown for the first quarter of 2017.”

A reminder from Glave: “If you’re a holder of the Experience Fredericksburg Downtown gift card with the magnetic strip, please return the card(s) to the Visitor Center or LibertyTown for a refund of the balance. The vendor cancelled the program in late December 2015.”
