Debate Tournament Judges Needed
Judges are needed for the National Christian Forensics and Communications Association (NCFCA) debate tournament January 4 – 7, 2017. The tournament is at the University of Mary Washington Stafford Campus, 121 University Blvd. in Stafford.
This Virginia qualifying tournament will provide competition for more than 150 students from across the region, in both Lincoln Douglas Value and Team Policy debate, as well as in Interpretive, Platform, and Limited Preparation speech events.
Our students rely on our judges’ valuable feedback for improvement, growth, and encouragement. No experience in either speech or debate is necessary to judge. All we need is your investment of time. We are in need of 150 judges.
Judging each round is a three-hour commitment, which includes a 30-minute judge orientation. You may judge as little as one round on one day, or as many as several rounds over all three days. Complimentary meals, snacks, and beverages are provided.
Please sign up on the NCFCA judge website. After clicking on “Fredericksburg VA Qualifier,” you may choose the day(s) and time(s) that work for you. Once you select “Complete Registration,” expect an email confirmation with the subject line “NCFCA Judge Registration.” Be sure to check your spam folder, in case your settings/servers perceive it as spam.
Tournament judges should be at least 19 years old, should not have been eligible to compete in any NCFCA event during the current season, and must not be currently enrolled in high school.
We appreciate your interest in helping train future leaders, and hope to meet you at the tournament. If you have any questions, please contact me at [email protected] or 540-429-7781.
