The Community Foundation to Celebrate Its 20th Anniversary with Four $20K Grants

In celebration of its 20th anniversary advancing local philanthropy, The Community Foundation of the Rappahannock River Region is offering a special grant cycle in 2017, distributing a total of $80,000.

Four grants of $20,000 each will be awarded in four categories:
– Environment
– Arts
– Human Services
– Education

“The Community Foundation asks nonprofit applicants to envision how their organization can affect our community over the next 20 years,” said Executive Director Teri McNally. “The foundation then asks the applicants to write a proposal for a one year, $20,000 grant, that will launch their efforts and help secure their 20-year vision.”

Proposals must directly benefit the communities of Fredericksburg, Caroline, King George, Stafford or Spotsylvania.

Grant Cycle 1 – Environment
Request for proposals opens on January 20.
Proposals are due February 21.
Grant award winner announced the week of March 20.

Grant Cycle 2 – Education
Request for proposals opens on March 24.
Proposals are due April 28.
Grant award winner announced the week of June 19.

Grant Cycle 3 – Health and Human Services
Request for proposals opens June 23.
Proposals are due July 28.
Grant award winner announced the week of September 25.

Grant Cycle 4 – Arts
Request for proposals opens September 4.
Proposals are due October 2.
Grant award winner announced the week of November 20.
