It seems true that all great love affairs begin with great wine and food. For James Fallon, owner and chef at Cork and Table, it’s certainly true.
At Cork and Table food and wine literally come together, with fixed price menus comprised of food and wine pairings that seamlessly blend.
For Fallon, learning to cook is as much of a science as it is an art. He spent more than 20 years gaining the experience in the kitchen, prior to opening his first restaurant.
Pairings are important to Fallon with food and wine, and with the location for his restaurant. He fell in love with downtown Fredericksburg for many reasons, including the charming downtown, and the hustle and bustle on Caroline Street.
However, it was something more that led him to open his doors. “There is a great community feeling, a sense of being neighbors and working together,” Fallon said. “We all want to see downtown succeed, and we all work together to make it happen.”
Like all great restaurateurs, Fallon loves making people feel happy and fulfilled. It gives him a great sense of gratitude to work alongside his staff and vendors to provide an exceptional customer experience.
