VDOT hot spots in Fredericksburg, Stafford, Spotsylvania, Caroline, and King George for March 5 – 11, 2017.

City of Fredericksburg
Interstate 95 Southbound
(New) Sunday ˗˗ Monday, 10 p.m. ˗˗ 5 a.m. Two lanes will be closed on I-95 southbound at mile marker 131 to allow crews to clean and stain the new Fall Hill Avenue overpass. On Sunday, double lane closure will begin at 10 p.m. On Monday, a single lane will be closed at 9:30 p.m. followed by a double lane closure at 10 p.m. All lanes will be open to traffic by 5 a.m. each day.

Interstate 95 Northbound
(New) Tuesday ˗˗ Thursday, 9 p.m. – 4:30 a.m. Two lanes will be closed on I-95 northbound at mile marker 131 (Fall Hill Avenue) to allow crews to clean and stain the northbound side of the new Fall Hill Avenue bridge. . A single lane will be closed at 9 p.m. followed by a double lane closure at 10 p.m. All lanes will be open to traffic by 4:30 a.m. each day.

Fall Hill Avenue
Monday − Thursday, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. – noon. Motorists should expect intermittent lane closures on Fall Hill Avenue between Carl D. Silver Parkway and the Rappahannock Canal for construction activity. Flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone.

Mary Washington Boulevard
Monday − Thursday, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. – noon. Motorists should expect intermittent lane closures between Hospital Drive and Sam Perry Boulevard as part of the Fall Hill Avenue widening project. Motorists should stay alert for ongoing work in the median with crews working to install new curb and paving.

Stafford County
Interstate 95
(New) Monday ˗˗ Friday, 9:30 a.m. ˗˗ 3:30 p.m. Motorists can anticipate alternating single lane closures on I-95 northbound and southbound from mile marker 139 to mile marker 141 near Exit 140 (Route 630/Courthouse Road). This will be a mobile work zone to allow crews to conduct storm drainage work and shoulder repairs. Motorists should stay alert through the work zone and expect brief delays.

Route 17
(New) Monday, 9 a.m. ˗˗ noon. The traffic signal on Route 17 (Warrenton Road) and Village Parkway will be shut down. Motorists will not be able to make a left turn from northbound Route 17 onto Village Parkway. All traffic exiting Village Parkway will have to go right on southbound Route 17. Virginia State Police will assist with traffic control at the intersection. Motorists should stay alert through the intersection.

Route 610
(New) Sunday ˗˗ Thursday, 8 p.m. ˗˗ 6 a.m. Motorists can expect alternating single lane closures overnight on Route 610 (Garrisonville Road) from Shenandoah Lane to Travis Lane. Crews will be conducting pipe work to install a new drainage system. This work is in regards to the Stafford County widening of Garrisonville Road.

Chatham Bridge
(Update) Sunday ˗˗ Thursday, 9 p.m. ˗˗ 6 a.m. Traffic will be reduced to one westbound lane on the Chatham Bridge over the Rappahannock River. Crews will continue to work to improve sidewalks and railings on the bridge between Stafford County and the city of Fredericksburg. Pedestrian access may be restricted to one side of the bridge overnights when crews are working.
Routine Maintenance
Monday − Friday, 6 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Stay alert for mobile lane closures. Crews will perform routine maintenance activities at the following locations:
· Route 604 (Belle Plains Road) ˗˗ maintenance work
· Route 605 (New Hope Church Road) ˗˗ brush removal
· Route 607 (Cool Springs Road) ˗˗ pothole patching
· Route 608 (Brooke Road) ˗˗ ditch cleaning
· Route 628 (Ramouth Church Road) ˗˗ shoulder repairs

Spotsylvania County
Route 1 and Route 632 (Hickory Ridge Road)
(New) Monday ˗˗ Thursday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. A single southbound lane on Route 1 (Jefferson Davis Highway) will be blocked near Route 632 (Hickory Ridge Road) as crews begin work to improve the intersection. Crews will be adding and extending turn lanes.

Routine Maintenance
Monday − Friday, 6 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Stay alert for mobile lane closures. Crews will perform routine maintenance activities at the following locations:
· Route 3 (Plank Road) ˗˗ pothole patching
· Route 605 (Marye Road) ˗˗ pothole patching
· Route 606 (Morris Road) ˗˗ ditch cleaning
· Route 606 (Post Oak Road) ˗˗ ditch cleaning
· Route 612 (Stubbs Bridge Road) ˗˗ ditch cleaning
· Route 614 (Dickerson Road) ˗˗ pothole patching
· Route 620 (Harrison Road) ˗˗ pothole patching
· Route 621 (Orange Plank Road) ˗˗ pothole patching
· Route 639 (Leavells Road) ˗˗ vegetation control
· Route 657 (Edenton Road) ˗˗ tree removal operations
· Route 658 (Mount Olive Road) ˗˗ pothole patching
· Route 658 (Shirley Hill Road) ˗˗ ditch cleaning
· Route 691 (Blackrock Road) ˗˗ pothole patching
· Route 754 (Hayden Road) ˗˗ pipe repairs and installation

Caroline County
Route 652
(New) Sunday, 9 a.m. ˗˗ 3 p.m. Motorists will be restricted to one lane on Route 652 near Railroad Lane and Chesterfield Road, as crews inspect the bridge over the CSX Railroad tracks. Expect brief delays near the work zone.

Route 684
(New) Sunday, 9 a.m. ˗˗ 3 p.m. Motorists will be restricted to one lane on Route 684 (Dry Bridge Road) near Route 207 (Rogers Clark Boulevard) and Jesse Lane, as crews inspect the bridge over the CSX Railroad tracks. Expect brief delays near the work zone.

Routine Maintenance
Monday − Friday, 6 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Stay alert for mobile lane closures. Crews will perform routine maintenance activities at the following locations:
· Route 600 (Frog Level Road) ˗˗ pothole patching
· Route 614 (Ware Greek Road) ˗˗ tree removal operations
· Route 621 (Stump Road) ˗˗ ditch cleaning operations, pothole patching
· Route 622 (Durrett Road) – ditch cleaning operations
· Route 628 (Antioch Road) ˗˗ debris pick-up
· Route 641 (Perimeter Road) ˗˗ tree removal operations
· Route 648 (Sunshine Road) – ditch cleaning operations

King George County
Route 206
(New) Tuesday, 9 a.m. ˗˗ 3 p.m. Expect alternating single lane closures on Route 206 (Dahlgren Road) from Dutch Court to Burrell Lane. This will be a mobile work zone to allow crews to conduct utility and permit work. Motorists should stay alert to flaggers directing traffic through the work zone and anticipate brief delays.

Route 610
(Update) Wednesday, 8 a.m. ˗˗ 4 p.m. Expect alternating single lane closures on Route 610 (Indiantown Road) just south of Route 218 (Caledon Road) to repair guardrail. Motorists should stay alert to flaggers directing traffic through the work zone and anticipate brief delays.
