Update Noon, Monday, March 13: Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Monday Night into Tuesday

A late season winter storm is expected to bring snow to the Fredericksburg region, beginning Monday night, March 13, 2017.

Total accumulation potentials range from less than an inch up to nine inches in Fredericksburg, according to the National Weather Service as of 3 a.m. Monday. Updates to the forecast will be provided as the storm advances.

Detailed Forecast
Monday: Rain and snow, mainly after 5 p.m. High near 45. Northeast wind 5 to 10 miles-per-hour (mph), becoming southeast in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Monday Night: Rain, snow, and sleet before 2 a.m., then snow and sleet. Low around 31. East wind 9 to 13 mph, becoming north after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New snow and sleet accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Tuesday: Snow before 2 p.m., then a chance of snow showers after 2 p.m. High near 37. North wind 11 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Tuesday Night: A chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24. Northwest wind 8 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.
