May 4 – Washington Heritage Museums Speaker Series: Deborah Sampson, Continental Soldier – presented by Vicki Dehlbom. Deborah Sampson was a woman who disguised herself as a man in order to serve in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War.

May 5 – First Fridays at the Rising Sun Tavern – Enjoy a costumed tour of the Rising Sun Tavern by evening’s light.

May 20 – Colonial Fare in Concert at the Rising Sun Tavern – home of Charles Washington, George’s brother. Built in 1760. $15 donation for colonial concert with light refreshments. Colonial beer will be served by Fredericksburg’s own Adventure Brewing Company.

May 23 & 30, June 6 – Felicity Book Club (three part series), Rising Sun Tavern – Young ladies are invited to join in a discussion of three Felicity books in the American Girl series. Participants will also complete a craft from the “Felicity Craft Book.”
