Stafford names Hornick as principal of North Stafford High

STAFFORD, VA – The Stafford County School Board approved the appointment of Daniel P. Hornick as
the principal of North Stafford High School during its May 9 meeting.
Hornick began his teaching career as a World History teacher at Stafford High School in 2005. During
his time at Stafford High School, Hornick received the “Teacher of the Year” award, served as social
studies department chair, and was selected to the 10th edition of Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers.
In 2010, he accepted the position of Principal Intern at North Stafford High School, and in 2011 became
an assistant principal at the school.
Hornick has served on various committees, including Literacy Initiative Planning, All-Century
Learners, and NSHS Improvement Team. He has initiated activities such as Challenge Day, staff book
studies, and activities recognizing student academic success.
Hornick has a bachelor’s degree in History and Economics from Lebanon Valley College. He earned
his master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Mary Washington.
