Pavement repairs coming to River Road in Spotsy

FREDERICKSBURG – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will begin pavement repairs on Route 618 (River Road) in Spotsylvania County beginning Monday, May 22 through Friday, May 26,

Crews will begin patching and pavement repairs to approximately 8 miles of River Road between Route 3 (Plank Road) and Route 639 (Bragg Road).

Crews will be working Monday, May 22 through Thursday, May 25, 7 a.m. ˗˗ 7 p.m., and Friday, 7 a.m. to noon, weather permitting.

Flaggers and a pilot truck will be used to direct motorists through the work zone, one lane at a time.

Crews will return the following week to apply new asphalt.

Motorists should expect delays while crews are working on River Road.

River Road carries an average of 3,700 vehicles a day, according to a 2016 Virginia Department of Transportation traffic count.
