Downtown wine merchant plans grand opening event

City Vino, a wine shop at 810 Caroline Street, will be celebrating their grand opening on June 9 at 1 pm.
Renee Dunn and Rita Allen opened the store May 5.
“Since we opened, we have been working on filling our shelves with interesting and beautiful wines,” Dunn said. “The response so far has been very positive. We are excited to be part of the downtown community and we look forward to sharing some great wine.”
Dunn and Allen said they share a passion for wine and saw a need downtown for a retail store focused exclusively on wine. City Vino stocks wines from all over the world, including a selection of Virginia wine.
The owners said they try to find hand-crafted wines from small producers and wines that exemplify a particular region or varietal. They also seek out unique wines from less well known regions.
