A section of Massaponax Church Road (Route 608) between Hickory Hill Drive and Overview Drive will be closed to all traffic from
July 6 to August 29 for roadway alignment and drainage
improvements.
A detour route will be set up along Massaponax Church Road, Route 1
and Route 17.
This project will straighten two sharp, blind curves, adding shoulders and increasing the line of sight along the
road. Drainage improvements will be made by eliminating cross culverts that currently
overflow onto the road and add ditches on each side of the road in the improved
section. JL Kent is the contractor performing the work at a cost of $799,000.
