Stafford appoints assistant principals

The Stafford County School Board approved two appointments during its August 1, 2017 special called meeting.
• Ms. Kathryn Johnson is the new Assistant Principal at A. G. Wright Middle School. Most recently, she was an Educational Diagnostician. Ms. Johnson has served SCPS as a teacher of students with Autism, a collaborative teacher, and educational evaluator. An instructional leader, Ms. Johnson served as Special Education Department Chair. She served on the SCPS modified report card committee. Ms. Johnson has offered training at the district level for teachers of low incidence populations of research based modified curriculum and how to use data to drive instruction. Ms. Johnson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education from VCU. She earned her Master’s degree in Special Education and endorsement in Educational Leadership from University of Mary Washington. Ms. Johnson is a graduate of Colonial Forge High School.

• Mr. Chris Dodd is the new Assistant Principal for Athletics and Activities at Stafford High School. Most recently, he was a Health, Physical Education, and Driver’s Education teacher at Mountain View High School. Mr. Dodd has twenty-one years of classroom experience. He also served as an instructional leader at Mountain View as a department chair, member of the School Leadership Team, and facilitated PLC meetings. Mr. Dodd has supervised and coordinated athletic events and activities, including transportation, ticket sales, and preparation of field sites. Mr. Dodd holds a Bachelor’s degree from High Point University in North Carolina and a Master’s degree from the University of Phoenix.
